About Us
ACI
Singapore
– The Financial Markets Association (formerly known as the Forex
Association of Singapore) has undergone significant changes in recent years
to structural changes taking place in the financial market. In July, 1998,
the Association was officially renamed ACI Singapore - The Financial
Markets Association, to become the standard bearer for financial markets'
professionals in
Singapore.
The Association was formed in 1973 and is today 35 years young. During this
period,
Singapore
emerged as a leading financial centre in the world. ACI Singapore now
serves about 500 members.
ACI Singapore is affiliated to ACI - The Financial
Markets Association, the global umbrella body of national
associations. The Paris-based body, founded as Association
Cambiste Internationale, has more than 13,000 members worldwide in more than 80
countries. This makes ACI the largest international association in the
wholesale financial markets. ACI - The Financial Markets Association was
founded in France in 1955 following an agreement between foreign exchange dealers
in Paris and London.
ACI Singapore seeks to add value to the industry and its
members by promoting continuous education and social awareness. The
Association partners Monetary Authority of Singapore in manpower training
matters -- Settlements Operations Training Course and Middle Office
Training Course. We were a member of the Institute of Banking &
Finance’s training and assessment industry feedback panel in the
formulation of Financial Industry Competencies and Standards. We are now a
partner of FTI@SMU in providing ops training to the financial sector.
For 15 years, we have been raising funds for the needy in
society in our annual Charity Golf tournaments. This charity drive is well recognised and actively supported by our fellow members, the dealing fraternity and financial institutions.
