Market Practice
ACI globally
and in Singapore seek to promote best market practices. Central to this ongoing
effort is The Global Model Code of ACI.
The ACI
Global Code was unveiled at the ACI World Congress 2000 held in Paris in May.
It is now into its March 2006 edition It seeks to provide international
financial markets with a common, standardised code of conduct. It is designed
to be flexible enough to incorporate and embrace the different domestic
practices of major centres. It is also meant to provide the groundwork for an
internationally recognised dealing accreditation.
Very importantly,
the new Global Code now lays out, in detail, the guidelines by which the ACI,
represented by the Committee For Professionalism, will arbitrate in transaction
disputes, for members and non-members.
In Singapore,
we participate actively in the local guide, The Singapore Guide to Conduct and Market Practices
for Treasury Activities ("Blue
Book", 2007 edition) by The Singapore Foreign Exchange Market Committee, on professional practice.
